My beautiful friend and her family welcomed baby number three into the world a few months ago. Of course, I had to be there to document the first few days of her life. It was easy to see that she was loved from the moment she arrived, with two doting older siblings eager to hold her and share some snuggles. It's hard not to walk away from a session like this with a case of my own baby fever, but luckily for me, I get to visit this little nugget whenever I want.
he snow fell and blanketed the ground as we began this lovely maternity session inside the warmth of their home. Though chilly and windy outside we knew that we had to take advantage of the beautiful scene the snow had created for us. It was certainly worth a few chilly fingers on my part and Mom did just fine!
I think there is a lot to be said for a maternity portrait session done in the comfort of your own home. It's comfortable, there is always a bathroom available, and it's an accurate reflection of many of your days were spent during your pregnancy.
It's funny that as women we look at other women during their pregnancy and see only beauty. At times that the beauty can be lost on ourselves as we go through our own pregnancy. We are growing and changing and often find it harder each day to see the beauty that others see. I challenge you to see only the beauty, because trust me this is a beautiful time in your life. Celebrate it and document it for someday it will be a very distant memory.
